25 July 2012 Magda Heydel awarded for her translation of Conrad
The Literatura na świecie monthly has just announced its annual translation awards for works translated into Polish from a foreign language. The award for prose went to Magda Heydel for the new translation of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness. Congratulations!
The second winner in the same category was Wiktor Dłuski, recognised for his translation of Rewolucja. Władza, nadzieje, rozterki by Bronisław Baczko, a Polish historian of ideas. Last but not least – Dorota Horodyńska carried the day in the poetry section for her rendition of Child of Nature by Luljeta Lleshanaku.
