All literature lovers, guests of the Conrad Festival, citizens of Krakow and tourists are invited to visit festival bookshops, which have prepared special offers for the duration of the festival. Księgarnia Hetmańska (Rynek Główny 17), Księgarnia Pod Globusem (ul. Długa 1) and Główna Księgarnia Naukowa (ul. Podwale 6) offer a 10% discount, Księgarnia Bona (ul. Kanonicza 11 and ul. Krupnicza 9) – a 15% discount, while Księgarnia Wydawnictwa Znak (ul. Sławkowska 1) offers selected books 20% off, and those published by Znak – 30% off. To be eligible for a discount, present a discount coupon that can be obtained from the Festival Centre at Pałac pod Baranami (Rynek Główny 27) and the Conrad Festival stand at the Krakow Book Fair (the 25th–28th of October 2012, Hala Targów, ul. Centralna 41A). Book lovers are also invited to visit the Matras bookshop (Rynek Główny 23) and the Empik Megastore (Rynek Główny 5).

This year’s edition of the Conrad Festival, one of the major literary events in the world, will start on the 22nd of October and will last a week (until Sunday, the 28th of October). The motto of this year’s edition is Think: Literature! Some of the most outstanding Polish and foreign writers, including: Zygmunt Bauman, Orhan Pamuk, Jeanette Winterson, Krzysztof Wodiczko, Peter Eszterhazy, Robert D. Kaplan, Dubravka Ugrešić, Eustachy Rylski, Krzysztof Varga, Andrzej Stasiuk, Dorota Masłowska, Wojciech Jagielski, Magdalena Tulli, Michał Witkowski and Marek Bieńczyk have confirmed that they will be coming to Krakow.
