11 October 2010 There is only one week left before Amos Oz arrives in Krakow.
We invite you to an open meeting of the writer with readers that will take place on Wednesday 20th October at 4 p.m. in the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Krakow.
There has been only little more than one week left before Amos Oz – one of the most outstanding contemporary writers – visits us in Krakow on Wednesday 20th October. The meeting with Amos Oz in the Ludwik Solski Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Krakow (ul. Straszewskiego 21-22) will begin at 4 p.m. and will be hosted by Piotr Paziński. Entrance to the meeting is free, but we request you to arrive at an earlier date due to the limited number of seats.
Amos Oz will arrive in Poland at the invitation of his own main Polish publisher: Dom Wydawniczy Rebis, which in recent years has published Oz’s newest book Scenes From a Village Life, and on the occasion of the writer’s visit, will be preparing for publication his short stories Where the Jackals Howl. Partners in the visit of Amos Oz to Krakow are the Krakow Festival Office and the Tygodnik Powszechny Foundation – the organisers of the 2nd Joseph Conrad International Literature Festival.
We would like to remind you that on 6th November in Italy Amos Oz will receive one of the most prestigious literary distinctions in that country – the Premio Napoli award. For this reason, the writer will be unable to attend the 2nd Joseph Conrad International Literature Festival, which will be held in Krakow for one week from 2nd till 7th November.
