
Amélie Nothomb

(born in 1966) Belgian Francophone writer, member of the Royal Academy of French Language and Literature of Belgium. In 2015, she was awarded a noble title. Her debut novel – Hygiene and the Assassin – was released in 1992. Since then, she has published more than thirty books, including many best-selling novels. Her novel Fear and Trembling (1999, Polish release: 2001) won her the prestigious French Academy Literary Award. Recently, Wydawnictwo Literackie published Strike Your Heart. She is known for her love of unusual hats.
