Barbara Bodziony

illuminator, calligrapher, art historian, medievalist. Graduate of the Jagiellonian University and the Institut Supérieur Européen de l’Enluminure et du Manuscrit in Angers, France. She runs the School of Calligraphy and Illumination in Krakow, since 2016 she has been running the Landowska & Bodziony Atelier together with Ewa Landowska. She is also the founder of the Laboratory of Calligraphy and Illumination, which does commissioned works in the field of miniature and calligraphy. Since 2008, she has been running regular workshops at the Benedictine Cultural Institute in Tyniec. Co-author of a calligraphy textbook Piękna Litera, the first volume of which was published in 2016 and the second in 2018. Author of a series of articles on medieval pigments and dyes, published in 2012–2016 in the quarterly Iluminacje. She conducts classes at the Faculty of Industrial Forms at the Academy of Fine Arts and at the editing department of the Jagiellonian University.
