Chantal Mouffe

(born 1943) – Belgian philosopher specializing in issues of feminism and politics. Her work Hegemony and Socialist Strategy (1985), written together with Ernest Laclau, is available in Polish (2007). In the book, the authors seek ways to create participatory democracy and an egalitarian society within the existing political system. In her book Agonistics: Thinking The World Politically (2013) as well as her recent book For a Left Populism (2018), she deals with the myth of political consensus, proposing a framework for a substantive dispute that exceeds moral categories. Author of insightful analyses of the phenomenon of populism in contemporary politics.
