Eva Meijer
(born in 1980) – Dutch writer, philosopher, graphic artist, songwriter and singer. She is interested in issues related to language and social justice as well as animal communication. In 2017, she defended her doctoral thesis at the University of Amsterdam, which later received the Praemium Erasmianum Dissertation Prize. She wrote twelve books, which were translated to 18 languages and nominated to many literary awards (among them the Academica Literatuurprijs, Gouden Boekenuil, Vrouw&Proza DebuutPrijs, Libris Literatuurprijs, ECI Literatuurprijs, Vondel Translation Prize and International Dublin Literary Award). She published four song albums and two mini-albums and gave concerts in the USA, Germany and other places. Four of her books were translated to Polish: The Limits of My Language, Bird Cottage, Animal Languages and When Animals Speak. Toward an Interspecies Democracy.
