
Jaroslav Rudiš

A Czech prosaist, journalist, screenplay writer, and author of comic books. For his debut novel entitled Nebe pod Berlinem (2002) he received the Jiří Orten Award (a Czech literary award for young writers). The action of the novel is set in a metro, among train-drivers, passengers, homeless people and street musicians. The book was transferred onto the big screen in 2005. Together with Jaromir 99 (Jaromír Švejdík), he is an author of a three part graphics novel entitled Alois Nebel. (2003–2005, Polish Edition 2007–2008) based on which an animated film was made in 2011. His works published in Poland include Nebe pod Berlinem (2007) and Grandhotel (2011) .
