
Joanna Gierak-Onoszko

author of The 27 Deaths of Toby Obed, hailed in Poland as the most important non-fiction book of 2019. Until 2018, she was a reporter for the monthly magazine Polityka. She has published her writings in journals such as: Duży Format, Pismo and Non-fiction. She is an award-winning author and also won the Best News Reportage award at the Festiwal Wrażliwy for her text on the international operation to evacuate a dog from Aleppo (2017). Nominated for the Tadeusz Mazowiecki German-Polish Journalism Prize for a report on doctors and volunteers helping refugees in Berlin (2015). Graduate of the University of Warsaw and the Polish Reportage Institute. She lives in Warsaw, where she works as an internal communications and public relations manager for one of the world's largest law firms.
