Kaja Malanowska
A biologist by education, she wrote a doctoral thesis on the genetics of bacteria at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Columnist for Krytyka Polityczna. She is a teacher at the Secondary Public School No. 20 in Warsaw. Her primary activity includes working with refugees’ children. She debuted with her novel Drobne szaleństwa dnia codziennego (2010), which brought her a nomination for Gwarancje Kultury – TVP Kultura awards. Author of a collection of short stories entitled Imigracje. Her latest novel, Patrz na mnie Klaro! was nominated for Polityka’s Passports and the Nike Literary Award. On 23rd October she will take part in a debate with Sylwia Chutnik and Zoska Papuzanka.
