Magdalena Kamińska-Maurugeon

She was born in Szczecin in 1974, studied in Poznań and in Rennes, lives in Warsaw. She has been translating from French for ten years. Working on translating literary texts gives her most pleasure, however, she also translates dialogues lists of feature films, and for the channel Planete, she works up Polish versions of commentaries and documentary films. Books, work on which was particularly important for her: “Windows on the World” by F. Beigbeder, “The girl who liked matches too much” by G. Soucy, “Generous” by J. Littell and “Patience Stone” by A. Rahimi. Although, as she says, she enjoys every new book she takes to her workshop. The translation and it various aspects interest her. She likes listening to French songs and dancing the dances of West Africa. She has two sons.
