Marianna Lis

Theatrologist working on contemporary wayang, theatre, drama, performance and experimental music in post-traditional Indonesia. Her research focuses on the role of traditional arts in addressing major issues of the present, such as climate catastrophe and decolonization, as well as on issues pertaining to the construction, negotiation and expression of identity through performing arts. She received her doctoral degree from the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Author of Wayang. Jawajski teatr cieni, translator of The Wandering by Intan Paramaditha, member of the Warsaw Gamelan Group, author of wayang kulit performances.
