Mykoła Riabczuk

Ukrainian literary critic, essayist and publicist, poet. He graduated from Lviv Polytechnic (1977) and the Maxim-Gorki Institute of Literature in Moscow (1988). In the 1970s, he took part in the underground cultural life of Lviv, and later became the editor of several important literary and cultural magazines. Since 2014, he has chaired the jury of the ANGELUS Central European Literature Prize. Many of his books on Ukrainian culture have been published in Polish, including   Ogród Metternicha (Сад Меттерніха / Metternich's Garden, 2010), Ukraina. Syndrom postkolonialny (Постколоніальний синдром. Спостереження, Ukraine. The Postcolonial Syndrome,2015), Poprzednie życie (Попереднє життя, Previous Life, 2018). A selection of his poems was translated into Polish by Bohdan Zadura.
