Paweł Pieniążek
journalist specialising in the subject of Eastern Europe
journalist and reporter. Former editor of the Nowa Europa Wschodnia magazine. He reported on the Ukrainian revolution, the war in Donbass, the refugee crisis and the fight of the Iraqi Kurds against Daesh. In 2014, he was nominated for the MediaTory Award. He works with the Informacyjna Agencja Radiowa press agency of the Polish Radio and the Tygodnik Powszechny weekly. He has published, among others, in the Gazeta Wyborcza daily, Newsweek, Polityka and Wprost magazines. He has translated texts by Andriĭ Bondar, Yaroslav Hrytsak, Vitaly Portnikov, Andrii Portnov, Natalka Sniadanko and Serhiy Zhadan. Author of books Pozdrowienia z Noworosji (2015) and Wojna, która nas zmieniła (2017). For the latter, he was nominated for the Beata Pawlak Prize.
