
Pierre Assouline

Writer, journalist and columnist, long-time regular contributor to the Lire monthly and the Le Nouvel Observateur weekly, whose articles are also published in L'Histoire and other magazines. Author of an online literary magazine La République des livres. He also produces theatrical adaptations for France-Culture radio station. He has been teaching creative writing for twenty years at the Institute of Political Science in Paris and in other institutions. He wrote some thirty books, mostly on history (World War II), including novels and biographies. Some of his subjects included Georges Simenon, Gaston Gallimard, Cartier-Bresson and Hergé. He also writes reportages, as well as papers on history and literature.
Winner of the first Polish Goncourt Selection for Cliente.
Member of the Goncourt Academy since January 2011.
