Rita Gombrowicz

Rita Gombrowicz – a Canadian by descent, writer and expert in French literature. During her studies in France, she met Witold Gombrowicz in 1964, and four years later, she became his wife. She takes care of the writer’s legacy. Thanks to her efforts, Gombrowicz’s books have been translated into 37 languages to date, and in the period of the Polish People’s Republic, they were available in Poland despite the censorship bans. Author of two biographical books: Gombrowicz in Argentina and Gombrowicz in Europe. In 2013, she published his journals entitled Kronos, which constitute an extremely intimate record of the author of Ferdydurke’s life.
