Robert Kuśmirowski

(born in 1973) – artist, performer, photographer, creator of installations and objects. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. In 2003, he received his diploma in sculpture at the studio of Sławomir Mieleszko. A year earlier he made his debut with an exhibition at Galeria Biala in Lublin, where he reconstructed the railway station. In the academic year 2002-2003, he went on a scholarship visit to the Metal and Modelling Studio at Rennes 2 University, Beaux-Arts Rennes. He was also nominated for the Paszport Polityki Award (2004). The artist has been associated with the Foksal Gallery Foundation. He is sometimes called the “model genius”, because his works feature an intricate reconstruction of reality, faithfully copying documents and objects that are present in installations with baroque intensity.
