
Tadeusz Pióro

Polish poet, prose writer, columnist, literature historian, translator from the English language. In 1993, he received his Ph.D. degree at the University of California in Berkeley, for the doctoral thesis devoted to the oeuvres of James Joyce and Ezra Pound. Pióro is the author of a few collections of poems, including: Okęcie (Warsaw’s Airport), Wiersze okolicznościowe (Circumstantial Poems), Syntetyczność (Syntheticity), Wola i Ochota (Wola and Ochota are the names of two Warsaw districts, but they coincidently mean also Will and Willingness), Pieśni miłosne (Love Songs) and Abecadło (ABC). He has translated works by, among others, Ashbery, Schuyler and Harry Mathews.
