Wioletta Grzegorzewska

(born 1974) – poet, prosaist, translator from English, living in Great Britain since 2006. She published several poetry volumes in Poland and abroad, including the most recent Czasy zespolone (Complex times). Her collection of lyrics and poetic prose Finite Formulae and Theories of Chance was shortlisted for the Canadian Griffin Poetry Prize. Winner of the Tyska Zima Poetycka competition, the English PEN award and the Golden Owl award of the Polish community in Vienna. Her book Guguły (Swallowing Mercury, translated by Eliza Marciniak) was nominated for the Nike Award, Gdynia Literary Prize, the Man Booker International Prize and the Swiss Prix Jan Michalski. She translated poems by Maria Jastrzębska and the Chinese poet Xu Lizhi from English into Polish.
