Anna Pekaniec
Doctor of literary studies, literature historian, assistant professor in the Department of Contemporary Criticism at the Faculty of Polish Studies of Jagiellonian University. Author of two monographs on women's personal documentary literature: Czy w tej autobiografii jest kobieta? Kobieca literatura dokumentu osobistego od początku XIX wieku do wybuchu II wojny światowej (Kraków, 2013) and Autobiografki. Szkice o literaturze dokumentu osobistego kobiet (Kraków, 2020), as well as numerous scholarly publications in collective volumes and journals including Ruch Literacki, Pamiętnik Literacki, Wielogłos, Autobiografia. Literatura. Kultura. Media, Zagadnienia Rodzajów Literackich, and Konteksty Kultury. Head of the Biography and Autobiography Research Laboratory. She works with the Children's and Youth Literature Research Centre and is a member of the Kraków District Committee of the Olympiad of Polish Literature and Language. Her research interests revolve around autobiography and epistolography, focusing on women, including theory and history, as well as biography studies, history of women's literature (from the 19th century to the present), as well as feminist literary criticism and its traditional counterpart. She lives in Krakow, rides a bicycle in her free time, and photographs nature.
