
Jakub Żulczyk

Born in 1983, novelist and screenwriter. Author of best-selling novel Blinded by the Lights (also published in the UK), which has sold some 300,000 copies in Poland, one of the writers of the HBO series based on the book. He made his debut in 2006 with Zrób mi jakąś krzywdę. Originator, co-author and co-writer of the series Belfer (Canal Plus) and writer of Warszawianka (Sky Showtime). In 2017, his new book Wzgórze psów brought him the Warsaw Literary Award and the Laurel of Warmia and Mazury. He collaborated with TR Warsaw and WTW Wrocław as an author. His novel Czarne słońce, which was released in November 2019, sparked controversy among critics and readers alike, further solidifying his image as an uncompromising artist who dares to experiment with different means of expression. In 2021, his latest novel Informacja zwrotna – an anti-crime novel presenting the story of Marcin Kania, an alcoholic, and an odyssey through the city, whose nooks and crannies all hide their dirty secrets, was released in Poland. A TV series based on the novel will be released in late 2023 on Netflix
