In the prose of Spanish authors Pilar Adón and Sara Mesa, people live with a strange sense of threat whose sources are not always clear. Social, familial, and professional rituals fail to ward off fear, because they are themselves underpinned by violence. How and where can safety and freedom be found? We will discuss families, strange heterotopias, and loneliness in both city and nature with the authors and their translators – Katarzyna Okrasko and Ewa Zaleska.
The event is organized in partnership with the Institute of Romance Philology at Jagiellonian University and the Instituto Cervantes.
