Sleeping Beauty, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood… We all know these old fairy tales. But… Do you know the story of children playing pig slaughter? Have you ever heard of Herr Fix und Fertig and his story, relayed by a certain retired watchmaker to Wilhelm Grimm in exchange for a pair of used trousers? Did you know that Rapunzel became pregnant long before the wedding? Żyli długo i szczęśliwie, póki nie umarli (Wydawnictwo Dwie Siostry) is a new and surprising selection of fairy tales collected by the Grimms, presented by a prominent researcher and translator in their original renditions – not intended for children, without any censorship and without preaching, accompanied by great illustrations full of character and dark humour, which the adult readers will appreciate for sure.
