A conversation about the history of Polish publishing houses, presented in an unusual way – putting designers on a par with editors. After all, each book is the result of the collaborative work of its author, editors and graphic designers, who work on their layout and appearance, before they end up at the printing house. The stories of publishing houses featured in Wy-Twórcy Książek. Historia społeczności wydawniczej w czasach PRL-u edited by Jacek Mrowczyk and published by Karakter showcase the stories of people involved with the book market – including outstanding professionals and visionaries who clashed with the totalitarianism of the burgeoning People’s Poland.
