Showcase of the works by the alumni of the second edition of the Translatorium mentoring programme

Showcase of the works by the alumni of the second edition of the Translatorium mentoring programme

Participants: Agnieszka Kuśmierz (French), Justyna Sterna (Spanish), Tymon Kubacki (German), Katarzyna Fiszer (Ukrainian)

Venue: Faculty of Polish Studies, Jagiellonian University, Gołębia 16, Room 42

Translatorium is a programme carried out within the framework of the Kraków – UNESCO City of Literature project, aimed at translators interested in translating foreign literature into Polish who have not yet published more than a single translation of a literary work.

The aim of the programme is to raise the next generation of translators to enable Polish readers to get acquainted with international masterpieces in their mother tongue – the concern for high-quality translations of challenging literature goes hand in hand with the desire to promote international works in Poland and overcome language barriers. The program also enables young translators to network with publishers and colleagues.

The Translatorium mentoring programme was initiated by: Krakow Festival Office – operator of the Kraków – UNESCO City of Literature programme, Centre for Translation Studies at Jagiellonian University and the Polish Literary Translators’ Association.

24 October, at 15:00 Faculty of Polish Studies, Jagiellonian University, Gołębia 16, Room 42
