(Im)possible Neutrality. A conversation with Natasha Brown

A conversation with Natasha Brown

Host: Grzegorz Jankowicz

Neutrality is the privilege of those, whose standing within the confines of a given society is indisputable. Those who are perceived as the Others, cannot take advantage of this privilege, as their communities will not let them forget about their position in the society. Natasha Brown tells the story of a certain Black British woman, who decided to defy the norms and social stereotypes that hampered her. She no longer wants to be part of narratives on class, which she has been included in by no choice of her own, about the responsibilities she supposedly had as a woman, and about her skin colour, which turned out to be important even when people tried not to pay attention to it. To gain independence, she has to create her own story and then create herself anew through the story.

Free tickets will be available for download from October 16, 2023 on the KBF:BILETY and KBF: PLUS application.
