The event concerns a specific border – the Polish-Belarusian one, a scene of a long-standing humanitarian crisis, where people die, where human rights are constantly violated, where state institutions not only fail but actively cause harm, where officers detain refugees seeking temporary shelter and a better life. Obviously, this situation requires continuous and direct support, which is primarily offered by activists. We also need to start a debate about what is going on there, how to counteract it, and what impact it has on the situation in Poland and the world. We invited people, who have been active on the border in various ways – rendering aid, writing about what they have seen, witnessing human tragedies and advocating for change.
