Only the Others. A conversation with Philippe Claudel

Only the Others. A conversation with Philippe Claudel

A conversation with Philippe Claudel

Host: Magda Nowicka-Franczak

In his novels, Philippe Claudel describes the relationship between an individual and a group, such as a local community that committed a crime and tries to hide it at all costs, or a society that does not tolerate otherness because it fears that an outsider could topple the existing hierarchies. Since in Claudel's works everything always revolves around human relationships, it means that each of his novels is also about boundaries – internal ones that we establish to protect ourselves from others, as well as external ones that are imposed to keep a particular group in line. One of Claudel's latest books is an essay on borders, which raises a fundamental question – what would the world look like if there were no borders (and is it even possible)?

Free tickets will be available for download from October 16, 2023 on the KBF:BILETY and KBF: PLUS application.

25 October, at 19:00 AST, Straszewskiego 21-22
