When You Cannot Hide. A conversation with Samanta Schweblin

When You Cannot Hide. A conversation with Samanta Schweblin

A meeting with Samanta Schweblin

Host: Nina Pluta

In spite of their fantastic convention, Samanta Schweblin's short stories and novels are analytical in nature. At times, the reader might feel like they have accidentally ended up in a laboratory, where the writer is just carrying out complex studies of the human psyche, testing the limits of human beings. Schweblin's protagonists are constantly exposed – we learn things about them that were supposed to be kept secret. The writer is a migrant – born in Argentina, she moved to Germany, where she lives now. Does the peculiar way in which she presents her characters have something to do with her life situation, with the experience that happens to everyone and anyone upon arriving in an unfamiliar place where they cannot hide their Otherness?

Free tickets will be available for download from October 16, 2023 on the KBF:BILETY and KBF: PLUS application.

24 October, at 18:00 AST, Straszewskiego 21-22
